Mission statement

Vision

Our desire is to empower pastoralists in northern Kenya to actively and responsibly improve their living conditions and grow in knowledge and trust in the Lord Jesus.

As Christians our vision is two-fold:

1. Empowered pastoralist communities - with a clear sense of vision and mission for the present and the future - improving their living conditions in ways that are locally sustainable, and increasingly participating in matters of national life.
2. Empowered Christians from pastoralist communities taking the responsibilities of the gospel, established in the Word, and with a clear vision and certainty of their personal hope to pass on to their own people.

Mission

With this vision in mind, we perceive our mission to be:

To build and reinforce the abilities and capacities of marginalised pastoralists of Northern Kenya through provision of quality education and training, conducted in ways that are sensitive to the particular social, cultural and environmental conditions of the beneficiaries.

Objectives

The specific objectives we have in regard to the School, the Christian Resource Centre and the Guesthouse are:

1. To provide quality secondary education and vocational training to children and young people from practising pastoralist communities in Northern Kenya.
2. To provide quality and culture specific training and support materials to church leaders and other pastoralist Christians with proven potential and call for Christian ministry among their own people.
3. To enhance community integration, participation in matters of national life and interaction with other communities of Kenya.
4. To enhance and support non-violent conflict resolution initiatives in the region for increased security and mutual and peaceful coexistence between communities.

Motivation

Our motivation stems from our love for Jesus and our desire to follow His command to proclaim Him through love and service to everyone, especially the disadvantaged.
