An Epic Send-Off!
The events began with a hymn and the national anthem, and then representatives from forms one to three had a chance to comment on the form fours and wish them well. After that came the thirty nine outgoing students. Each one made a short speech, in which they thanked everyone who had contributed to their stay at Kisima and gave words of advice to the students in the lower classes. Some of them recounted the challenges they had faced, as an encouragement to others in similar situations, while others described how they have changed over the last four years, such as gaining hope for the future, confidence or height!
Speeches were followed by performances - songs, poems and other entertainment from different groups of students and even the staff. One of the highlights was a song and dance by the teachers, which got everyone up on their feet to join in!
After that, the form fours were presented with certificates for their computer studies, and every student received a Christmas gift, thanks to donations from sponsors. The event was scheduled to finish at seven but it over-ran considerably - supper was finally served just before midnight!
The next morning the form fours were busy with their final preparations - filling in university application forms, packing, having a last photograph taken and saying goodbye to friends. Then it was time for their departure from Kisima, each laden with an extremely heavy box containing four years' worth of books as well as other possessions.

They shall be missed at Kisima but it is time for them to move on to the next steps in their lives. We shall next see them when they come for their results after they are published in late February or early March next year.
