First Impressions
At the end of January, the whole school gathered for an assembly to welcome our new form one class. Each of the new students had to introduce themselves and tell everyone what their best experience at Kisima was so far.
They all had something good to say about their fellow students in Forms Two, Three and Four. For example, 'they are respectful and obedient', 'they are good role models', 'they are welcoming, caring and attentive to others' needs', and 'they are well disciplined'.
They also reported that they found their teachers to be hard-working, friendly, always punctual and never missing lessons.
Then they were asked to say what they had found bad or strange on coming to Kisima. Most had nothing to report, though some said they were finding Nyahururu very cold and that they were not used to having to sleep with two blankets! Several said they had at first found it strange to see the students running all over the school, and wondered if they were in trouble and running away from the teachers. However they had soon discovered that at Kisima no one likes to be idle and so the students run everywhere to make the best use of time!
Now the new class have settled in and are in the habit of running everywhere themselves! They have been fitted with uniforms and shoes, have joined various school clubs and societies and are studying hard in the hope of achieving their ambitions.
