Exam Time

Once again it is time for Form Four students across Kenya to take their national exams. This includes 38 students at Kisima, who are hoping to achieve the best they can at the end of their four years of study.

As well as revision, there have been a number of other preparations for the students to make. On Saturday they were all busy cleaning their desks to ensure there are no marks on them that might lead to them being disqualified on suspicion of cheating! The desks and chairs then had to be arranged in the exam room, at the requisite distance of four feet apart. The appointed exam supervisor and invigilators were here on Tuesday to check this had been done properly and to brief the students on the exam procedure and regulations.

On Sunday our worship service had a special focus of praying for and encouraging the Form Fours. It started at 9.30am and ran on well into the afternoon as there were so many students who wished to take part in the service. Our guest preacher was Bishop Lesuuda from Maralal, who has been a friend of Kisima for many years. He preached from Philippians 4:6-8 - 'Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.'

Bishop Lesuuda brought with him the choir of an Anglican church in Samburu District. They came in their colourful traditional dress and sang a number of songs. Some of the Kisima students went to the stage to join in, just as some of the choir members joined in the songs presented by the students.

A few parents, guardians and former Kisima students also came to school to wish the students well and give words of encouragement. One mother even sang a song she had written, and presented the Form Four class with a cake.

The exams commence on Thursday 21st October and continue until Wednesday 10th November, as shown here.
